The planning for the Homecoming Parades is coming together well between the 1st Bn and the town councils of Warrington and Blackburn.  The aim of  this email is to inform you and your branches of the plans so far:
 
30th Nov 10 1 Lancs Home Coming Parade Warrington
 
Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving.  The service will be held in Warrington Parish Church St Elphins commencing at 1145hrs members of the congregation are to be seated by 1130hrs.  The service is expected to be completed by 1230hrs.
 
Parade     On completion of the church service, The Bn will form up and then march from the church into the town centre and through the town to the Town Hall and then onto Parr Hall for a Review by the mayor and Medal Presentation.
 
Civic Reception     Following on from the Medal Presentation, The parading troops and family members, plus civic dignitaries will gather in Parr Hall for refreshments.

Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving.  The service will be held in Blackburn Cathedral commencing at 1200hrs members of the congregation are to be seated by 1140hrs.  The service is expected to be completed by 1245hrs
 
Parade     On completion of the church service, The Bn will form up and then march from the Cathedral into the town centre and through the town to the Town Hall were the Mayor will take the Salute and then onto St Georges Hall for a Reception with the mayor.
 
Civic Reception     The parading troops and family members, plus civic dignitaries will gather in St Georges Hall for refreshments.
 
Regimental Association's are very welcome to attend the Church service's and support the Lads as they Parade through Warrington and Blackburn.  There is no requirement for Branches to Parade or Parade their Standards along side the 1st Battalion.
 
Should you have any questions about the day please ask the undersigned and I will be happy to answer your concerns.  If your Branches are intending to attend the Church services could you please let me know the numbers attending from your branch, so that I can reserve seating for you and your members.  Additionally I will provide Car Parking Permits for Sainsbury's Car Park Warrington.  Unfortunately I do not have any parking facilities for the Church service in Blackburn.

As many of you may know, we are soon to become the proud owners of our own Standard. We have been successful in our bid to obtain funding for this from the Duchy of Lancaster. As is often the case with these things, they have agreed to fund most, but not all of the cost.

Update on Our Standard, 10/02/2012

As you can see from the table above, we have had a great response to our request for help with the purchase of our own standard. Thanks to everyone for their generous help.
Although we have not quite reached our target yet, the order will be going in on Monday 12th February to flag and banner makers Newton Newton (Click here for their web site.)
Apart from the standard itself, we will be ordering the accessories illustrated below. If anyone would like to sponsor the purchase of these last items we would greatly appreciate your help.
