The 'Loyal Eddies'

On 7 July 1943, King George VI granted a name change to reflect our alliance with The Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire). Now our unit became The Loyal Edmonton Regiment. Read the full history of our sister regiment.

Gallipoli Story
The Loyals were involved in the Gallipoli Campaign during 1915 and took part in the storming of Chunuck Bair. 450 were lost during this battle. This link takes you to a very interesting site detailing the history of the whole Gillipoli campaign.

 

Mission Scapula This links to a site dedicated to the SOE in the Far East. It has been compiled by the son of Arthur Christie, an SOE veteran. There is a huge amount of information regarding the activities of the SOE during the Second World War as well as excerpts from Arthur's book, 'Mission Scapula'. Well worth a visit.
